BOLLARD PULL TEST

As the company’s goal is to become a one-stop shipyard for integrated solutions for shipbuilding and ship repairs, another significant facility offered is the on-site Bollard Pull testing facility. To measure the pulling capacity of a vessel, a bollard pull test is used to classify tugs on their towing ability. HSIG is capable of conducting Bollard Pull tests of up to 180 tonnes for offshore tug vessels.

INCLINING TEST / ARCHITECTURAL ASSESSMENT

HSIG is strategically located and well-suited to conduct inclining tests with sufficient water depth and all the necessary equipment available on site. The facilities at the shipyard are capable of performing inclining tests for vessels up to 150 metres in length.

An inclining test is conducted to determine a ship’s lightship weight and the position of its centre of gravity (longitudinal, vertical, and transverse). According to ICLL and SOLAS regulations, an inclining test must be carried out for all types of vessels including passenger ships and cargo vessels of 24 metres and above upon completion or after major conversion.

SHIP HARBOUR TEST / SEA TRIAL

Ship tests such as harbour trials and sea trials are required for newly built vessels, converted ships and any vessel following repair completion.

HSIG’s strategic location near the Johor River mouth with an average river depth of 5 to 6 metres, a naturally expansive waterfront, and minimal interference from surrounding developments, allows the shipyard to conduct sea trials for vessels of virtually any size.

LAUNCH BOAT, CHANDLING AND LOGISTICS

The ship chandling and logistics services include the supply and delivery of essential goods for vessels and their crews.

These services offer comprehensive provisions, including food and beverages that meet the highest standards of quality and safety, ensuring the health and comfort of the crew. The company also provides a wide range of high-quality technical equipment and materials, such as electrical, welding and mounting items, tools, household goods, kitchen equipment and hotel department supplies for use on board.

PILOTAGE SERVICE AND BERTHING ASSIST

Pilotage is one of the most vital and specialised professions in the maritime industry. Pilotage services are carried out by licensed or authorised pilots who assist the master of a ship in navigation and manoeuvring when entering, leaving or shifting within port. Without pilots, the risks involved in these operations would be incalculable and unacceptable. Pilotage is essential to ensuring navigational safety as professional pilots are responsible for the safe docking and undocking of vessels. Errors during these critical operations are costly.

22.8M Fishing trawler

We began designing and building the ZON C fishing trawler in 2021. Our team continuously conducts market research and collaborates with fishermen to understand their needs, ensuring that the vessel’s design meets all operational requirements.

We are pleased to share that our General Arrangement (GA) Plan was approved by the Department of Fisheries Malaysia on 19 November 2021 and 15 July 2022.

The keel was laid on 1 May 2022, and the vessel was successfully launched on 24 October 2022. We are proud to announce that the fishing trawler was completed in just five months.
